Giulia Gualco-Nelson
Deputy County Counsel
Giulia Gualco-Nelson joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2020. As a member of the Environment and Land Use Team, Giulia advises the Department of Parks and Recreation on a variety of public law, land use, and environmental issues. Prior to joining the Office of the County Counsel, Giulia served as a law clerk to the Honorable Goodwin H. Liu of the California Supreme Court. She also served as a Research Fellow in Law and City Planning at UC Berkeley and Columbia University, where she co-authored the California Land Entitlement Study, a leading study of land use practice. Prior to law school, Giulia worked in affordable housing development in the Bay Area.
