Michael L. Rossi

Lead Deputy County Counsel

Michael L. Rossi joined the Office of the County Counsel in 1997 and is currently a member of the General Government and Litigation sections.  Michael serves as primary legal counsel to the Department of Agricultural and Environment Management, the Department of Environmental Health, and the Tax Collector.  He advises the Planning Department regarding code-enforcement matters and litigates nuisance-abatement matters on behalf of the County.  Michael handles litigation defense cases and serves as the Code Enforcement Project Lead.

During his tenure with the Office of the County Counsel, Michael has served in nearly every major practice group in the Office, including Litigation, General Government, Labor and Employment, Probate, and Juvenile Dependency.  He has tried over 300 cases in civil, criminal, probate, juvenile dependency, and family-law courts.  Michael has briefed and argued dozens of appellate cases on both the state and federal level, resulting in published decisions in the areas of both civil and criminal law.
