Stephanie L. Safdi

Deputy County Counsel

Stephanie Safdi joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2018.  She is a member of the Social Justice & Impact Litigation and the Finance, Government Operations, and Environment Sections.  She advises the Consumer and Environmental Protection Agency and the Planning and Development Department.

Prior to joining the Office of the County Counsel, Stephanie represented public agencies and community groups in environmental, land use, and energy-related matters at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP.  Stephanie served as law clerk to Judge Michelle T. Friedland on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Judge Ricardo S. Martinez on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.  During and prior to law school, Stephanie worked with indigenous and community groups on issues at the intersection of human rights, land use, and environment law.
