Sterling Larnerd
Deputy County Counsel
Sterling Larnerd joined the Office of the County Counsel in 2022. As a member of the Public Safety and Justice team, she advises the County’s criminal justice and emergency response agencies. Prior to joining the County, Sterling was a Staff Attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Previously, she gained broad experience in criminal justice law and policy as a public defender, community organizer, and civil liberties advocate. Sterling also teaches legal writing and research at Santa Clara University School of Law.
